if obsession is wrong, i don't wanna be right

my next summer read

In Miscellaneous on August 5, 2009 at 4:36 pm

I’ll be the first to admit, I’m not a reader. A book reader, that is. I can read magazines at the drop of a hat, and I desperately refresh my google reader and end up reading hundreds of blog posts a day. I don’t know what it is about a book that shuns me away. It must be the time and commitment.

Either way, I had the audacity to make a ‘Summer Reading List’ and have yet to finish my first book! Okay, that’s only half-true, because I re-read Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince before the movie came out. It seems Harry Potter is the only book I can get through – which may be the reason why I’m a die-hard fan. But, I digress.

After I finish My Sister’s Keeper (it sounded like a good idea at the time… the movie was coming out, I was going on vacation, it was Chick-lit and supposed to be ‘quick’), I will be moving on to The Time Traveler’s Wife. This choice was also inspired by the upcoming movie release – which I was only initially interested in because Rachel McAdams is in it and I adore her.

Hopefully I can start crossing the books off my list, seeing as summer is almost over.

What books have you read this summer?

  1. I just finished Pretty In Plaid the night before last. Jen Lancaster is my all time favorite author because she makes me laugh out loud at inappropriate times (like while reading her book on an airplane). I’m pretty sure I have made everyone and their mom read her first book “Bitter is the New Black” because it is amazing. After I finished Plaid though, I was really disappointed. She is still my #1 and I read her blog religiously (www.jennsylvania.com).
    Love the site Nface.

  2. Bitter is the New Black sounds fun – I want to borrow! I started The Time Traveler’s Wife last night. I’m super intrigued already.
